SONIC / Vibratory Drilling Systems
In contrast to the pure rotary drilling systems, vibratory drilling systems are equipped with an additional vibration cell (oscillator) in the drill head, which creates high frequency power to vibrate the drill string in addition to the rotary movement. This power transmitted to the drill string and drill bit creates a vibration combined with torque and feed force. Attainaed frequency can be up to 160 hertz.
The interaction of torque, feed force and vibration generates high drilling penetration rates in overburden and consolidated ground. In overburden, the vibratory action causes the surrounding soil particles to fluidize, thereby allowing effortless penetration.
Sysbohr offers solutions for low frequency vibration heads such supplied from Eurodrill and Thyssen-Krupp as well as for SONIC heads.
